You may be angry about escalating state taxes (for example, the new state income tax), how the state has taken actions to hide accountability and waste from you, and that unelected bureaucrats can now remove elected sheriffs without your approval.  From boys in girls’ sports, to overriding parents’ rights, to voting irregularities and ballot issues, to supporting criminals over citizens – you’ve seen how Washington state has taken a turn away from protecting your rights and your property toward more control.

YOU can do something about it!  Become a Precinct Committee Officer (PCO)! This is a free and easy way to get involved in your own neighborhood (your precinct), your legislative district, and Washington state. As a PCO, you would periodically keep your neighbors informed about the issues, get out the vote, gather election information, and canvass for candidates. PCO’s receive training and tools. How much time you invest is flexible and is up to you.

What is a PCO?

A Precinct Committee Officer is a volunteer who is a “community resource” – the eyes and ears and hands and feet of the party, communicating with neighbors.

How Much Time Does It Take to be a PCO?

That depends on you.  The essential duties of a PCO are to attend the legislative district meeting (one evening per month), communicate with your neighbors (which you probably do already), and recruit volunteers (we’ll show you how to do this).  Some PCO’s only devote a couple of hours per month, others more.  It’s up to you.

What Does a PCO Do?

Like with time commitment, what you do as a PCO depends on you, your interests, and your level of engagement.  The three essential duties of a PCO are:

• Attend monthly district meetings
• Communicate with your neighbors
• Recruit volunteers

Otherwise, here’s a list of additional tasks that a PCO may do (in no particular order).  Keep in mind you do NOT have to do all of these things.  You may choose to do ANY of them.

• Attend city council and school board meetings
• Door knocking for candidates
• Phone calling for candidates
• Send text messages via Liberty Rising app
• Gather signatures on initiatives
• Vote for district, county, and state officers, platforms, and endorsements
• Attend biennial “re-org” meetings for district and county
• Attend state convention (every four years)
• Collect information from precinct residents
• Subscribe to Glen Morgan’s “We The Governed” videos
• Learn about how bills become law
• Attend county and state party events
• Donate to the district, county, state, candidates, and conservative groups
• Write to city councils and school boards on important issues
• Testify or comment on bills in Olympia – in-person, Zoom, or form submission
• Talk to family, friends, neighbors, co-workers about important issues
• Post or re-post pertinent items on social media
• Register citizens to vote
• Subscribe to newsletters from KCGOP and WAGOP
• Work summer booths talking to show attendees
• Learn how to communicate persuasively
• Promote conservative values
• Fly your US flag at your home
• Encourage others to become PCO’s and/or run for office
• Bring others to LD meetings and events
• Talk to candidates and office holders, ask questions
• Send letters or postcards to your precinct voters
• Help with setup for events
• Wear your 47th “Values” t-shirt!
• Be informed about local, state, and national politics and governance
• Vote in all special, primary, and general elections
• Be an election observer
• Run for office
• Wave signs for candidates and issues
• Place candidate and issues signs in your yard and precinct
• Meet leaders, candidates, office holders, and advocates/activists
• Attend meetings for other conservative organizations
• Hand out literature for candidates, initiatives, and issues
